GLEN OAK NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACT ZONE
Posted by Brad on Sep 22, 2008
s a part of the Glen Oak School Neighborhood Impact Zone planning process the City of Peoria along with School District 150 will hold a neighborhood meeting on Thursday, September 25 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Glen Oak Primary School located at 809 E. Frye Ave.
City staff has prepared an outline of the interests and concerns expressed by the neighborhood residents at the Open Space meeting held earlier this summer.
The purpose of the upcoming September 25th meeting is to review that outline with the residents and establish which issues they believe should be addressed first.
For your convenience a copy of the outline will be posted on the City website at www.ci.peoria.il.us/Glen-Oak-Zone. For more information, please e-mail the City of Peoria Urban Planner, Brad Schmidt at BSchmidt@ci.peoria.il.us or call at (309) 494-8611.

Night Out Against Crime Survey
Posted by Brad on Sep 18, 2008
As you know this year the City of Peoria changed the date for Night Out Against Crime from the second Tuesday in August to September 16th. The date change was in response to frequent concerns expressed by citizens that high temperatures in early August were impacting participation and enthusiasm for this event. However, a survey conducted recently by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), which sponsors this event, indicated that a majority of survey respondents from participating cities favor the traditional date on the first Tuesday in August. NATW has announced that in 2009 Night Out Against Crime will be held on August 4th. What do you think Peoria should do?
Please submit your response by Friday, October 31, 2008.
